Beautiful Anecdote

ParrotThere was a Sheikh who was teaching his students Aqeedah (faith), He taught them 'la ilaha illa Allah' and explained it to them.

The Sheikh loved keeping pets, so he was given a parrot by one of the students as a gift.

And with days the Sheikh started to like the parrot.

He used to take him in his lessons, until the parrot knew how to say la ilaha illa Allah, He would to utter it night and day. One day the students found their Sheikh crying and sobbing.

When they asked him the reason, he told them that a cat attacked the parrot and killed it.

They said: Is this the reason you are crying! If you wish we will bring you another parrot better than that one.

The Sheikh said: I am not crying because of this... But it made me cry when the cat attacked the parrot.

It was shouting and screaming until it died.

He use to say la ilaha illa Allah a lot.

However, when he was attacked by a cat he forgot to say it.

He did nothing but scream!

Because he used to say it with his tongue only, and his heart did not learn it, so it didn't feel it!

Then the Sheikh said: I am afraid to be like this parrot, we live our lives repeating la ilaha illa Allah with our tongues, but when death comes we forget it because our hearts did not know it.

When he told his students, they started crying in fear of lack of honesty in saying laa ilaha illa Allah.
___________
I ask Allah give us death with " ﻻ ﺍﻟﻪ ﺍﻻًﺍﻟﻠﻪ

" in our hearts and upon our tongues,

aameen!

Parenting

Tuesday, 29th September 2015

As a parent you need to enjoy every phase of your child's life. Sometimes parents - more so fathers - are so preoccupied with work, sports, hobbies etc. that they do not end up spending quality time with their children on a daily basis. It is important that familes have, at least, one meal together ever day. This will create love and bond the family. There are so many challenges out there, these days. One powerful way to combat all the challenges is to establish good channels of communication with your children.

May Allah protect our kids and grant them the best of both worlds. Aameen

Disregarding Iddah

Monday, 21st September 2015

The laws of Talaaq & Iddah(the waiting period)  are among the most emphasized laws in of Islam. It has been mentioned with unprecedented detail in the Quraan. Yet, the reality on the ground is that there is a great deal of ignorance and negligence about these laws.  Very few divorcees observe proper Iddahs these days.  Iddah is divine system of Allah which helps a person deal with the trauma of divorce and becomes a means of a person attaining Barakah in life post-divorce.

Unresolved Family Conflict

Unresolved Family Conflict

Wednesday, 16th September 2015

I have observed that when there is conflict between family members – effort should be made immediately to resolve the conflict. The longer you delay, the more difficult it becomes to reconcile.  Furthermore, try to keep the conflict as confidential as possible, because when lots of people know - it also makes it difficult to reconcile.  Most people who leave family conflict unresolved live very lonely and bitter lives.

May Allah grant as love and understanding!

Eye Witness Account of Crane Falling on Haram

Sunday, 13th September 2015

Strong winds and heavy rain caused a crane to fall into the Grand Mosque killing at least 107 Hujjaaj and injuring more than 230.

Mohamed Bhamjee - who is currently performing Hajj - shares his experience of Friday the 11th of September with Radio Islam's Mufti Moosagie.

He says: "As the Muslim world reflects on Friday's incident, for me it was a real experience. I was part of the crowd that witnessed the crane fall - while standing a mere 50 meters away from the actual site. Five minutes before that I was on the very spot. It was chaos - a loud crashing noise, people running, rain pelting down, people screaming "Allah hu Akbar". It still sends shivers down my spine, having seen the crane fall with the corner of my eye. It happened so fast. Within seconds the bodies of those who lost their lives and those injured were lying in front of us. I was totally terrified and shaken. All I can say is that it was the plan of Allah that this happened. At this time we make Dua to Allah to grant the families of the Marhumeen - Sabrun Jameel and a complete and speedy recovery to those injured. Aameen."

Speak About The Greatness of Allah

Thursday, 10th September 2015

It is only through speaking about the greatness and might of Allah that fear of Him is instilled in the heart. Having full knowledge of His greatness and sanctity has to be acquired before all other deeds and actions. We have not made enough effort in this regard and that is precisely the reason why we flagrantly violent the commands of Allah without batting an eyelash.

Anger

Monday the 7th of September 2015

When reading the traditions of the Messenger (S.A.W) I find that one of the strongest instructions we have been give is: "Do not get angry". The Messenger repeated these words three time when advising a Sahabi (R.A)

He (S.A.W) also advised us how to deal with anger:

"If one of you becomes angry while standing he should sit down. If the anger leaves him, well and good; otherwise he should lie down”[Tirmizi]

“Anger comes from Satan, Satan was created from fire, and fire is extinguished only with water; so when any of you is angry, he should perform ablution”.[Abu Dawood]

May Allah Ta'ala give us the ability to control our anger!

Unity

Wednesday: 9th September 2015

A great scholar advised that, there are two qualities that are necessary to maintain unity:

1 - Humility: A person who has humility, will think of himself as Allah's slave, who has no standing and will be happy with howsoever Allah treats him. He will have no expectations from others and therefore no complaints. When there are no complaints there are no disputes.

2 - Selflessness: Be prepared to sacrifice your own comforts to let your fellow muslim brother/sister live in comfort.Give preference to needs and desires over your own.

If we can attain these two qualities - we will definitely be a more united Ummah.

A Small Act Can Make a Big Difference

4th September 2015

Summary of today’s Jumuah lecture delivered by Mufti Yusuf Moosagie at Vereeniging Plaza Musallah

From a very young age we are taught about some sins being major and others being minor. In the same way, there are certain good actions that we consider to be monumental, while other we consider trivial. Will these actions be judged by Allah in this manner, according to our understanding? We do not know. It is the sole prerogative of Allah to decide. It may be one action, a statement or even a thought that enters us into Jannah. On the contrast it may be one action, statement or a thought that may enter a person into Jahannam. It is for this reason that we should value every action and not trivialize any sin.
